WHO WE ARE

Nuclear Medicines Australia aims to be the national voice of the nuclear medicine sector, bringing together organisations and experts across research, manufacturing, clinical care and patient advocacy.

Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive substances to diagnose and treat disease, often allowing doctors to see how the body is functioning or to target treatment directly to cancer cells.

Through collaboration, we represent a unified perspective to government and stakeholders, working to improve access to these diagnostics and therapies for Australian patients. As these technologies continue to transform how diseases are detected and treated, we are focused on ensuring patients can benefit from them sooner and more equitably.

WHAT WE DO

Our Commitment to Excellence in Nuclear Medicine

We advocate for practical policy solutions that support innovation, strengthen supply, and remove barriers to access—helping build a future where nuclear medicine is an integral and accessible part of Australia’s healthcare system.

Nuclear Medicines Australia brings the sector together to drive practical, coordinated action on policy and access. We facilitate roundtables and working groups that connect industry, clinicians, researchers, and patient representatives to identify challenges and develop shared solutions.

We also represent the sector in engagement with government, providing clear, evidence-based input to inform policy and regulatory change. Through this collaborative approach, we ensure the collective voice of nuclear medicine is heard where it matters most—helping shape decisions that improve patient access and system outcomes.
